Eligibility Criteria for Honours and General Courses:

Eligibility Criteria for Honours and General Courses:

• Passed H.S. / equivalent exam in 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017.
• For studying an Honours Course, a candidate must secure the prescribed cut off marks, for General Courses, minimum pass marks in aggregate.
• In practical based subjects pass marks to be obtained separately in theory and practical parts.

Merit Point for Honours courses (M) = Y + Z  

Merit Point for General courses (M) = Y

(Y=% of marks (Best performed language plus best scoring three elective subjects without ENVS) at H.S./ equivalent exams; Z =% of marks in Honours seeking subject/ allied subject.

• No marks will be deducted from merit point for year lapse i.e. for passing in 2014, 2015 & 2016
• Admission will be made cycle wise, each cycle comprising a number of phases.
• After the publication of provisional merit list some time will be given to applicants for seeking correction of errors if any (written application with documents to be submitted).
• In case of oversight of error on the part of the student and detection of the same at the time of verification, a student may apply for correction which may be entertained only after the end of that particular cycle.
• The provisional admission is to be ultimately approved by the affiliating University to which every admitted student is to apply for Registration and Enrolment. The college cannot be
held responsible if the Board issuing certificate of passing is not recognized by competent authority.
• Registered Applicants who have not got chance for admission to any of the four opted courses may change their option (maximum two) following notification subject to the following conditions:
1. There must be a subject in which all the applicants have been offered chance for admission but seats are still vacant.
2. The applicant exercises her option by surrendering the stipulated number of subjects of first option.
3. The candidate fulfils the eligibility criteria for studying the subject.
4. For exercising such option the name of the candidate will be automatically deleted from the merit list of the subject she is surrendering for the purpose of re-option.

  • Applicants will have to regularly visit the college website for all admission notification regarding date, time and option etc.

INFORMATION FOR ONLINE ADMISSION

• Registration for Online admission will be allowed during a specified period through admission website www.mucwcadmission.com which may be accessed through www.mucwcburdwan.org
• Registration includes online entry of student details like marks obtained in previous exams, name of the Board, Registration number, year of passing etc.
• Un-enlisted boards are to be written by selecting ‘OTHERS’.
The Application Number generated after registration will be treated as User Id and Date of Birth (dd/mm/yyyy) will be treated as Password for further communication.
• For confirmation of Online Registration applicants are to get a print-out of the e-challan for Registration and deposit registration fee (Rs. 100/-, Non-Refundable) at any branch of SBI within notified date. Service charge depends on “Mode of payment”.
• Applicants are required to “LOCK” their choices only after finalization of options. The last saved choices will be automatically locked after the expiry of period for submitting online admission form.
• Applicants may exercise maximum four choices for Honours Course from among those subjects for which they are eligible.
• All choices will be considered equally preferred.
• Subject-wise and category wise merit list will be generated on the basis of intake capacity separately for Honours and General Courses.
• Honours applicants need not apply separately for General Course. Those who are not eligible for Honours may apply for General Courses only.
• Reservation as per rule: UR 55%, SC 22%, ST 6%, OBC-A 10% & OBC-B 7% (PWD 3% subject-wise, not category-wise.). Sports quota as per University guideline.
• Reserved category applicants will be considered in unreserved list as well as reserved list provided that they have equivalent merit point; otherwise they will be considered only for reserved category. If a Reserved category candidate having name in both Reserved and
unreserved lists gets admitted, she will be treated as unreserved and the reservation facility will be extended to the next in reserved merit list.
• Applicant must click the “ACCEPT” button to book her seat for the subject(s) in which she has been merit listed within stipulated time. Otherwise her chance in respect of the particular subject will be lost.
• After booking a seat by clicking ‘ACCEPT” button, applicants must get a printout of the echallan for admission and deposit admission fee (Rs. 1250/-) at any branch of SBI within stipulated date. The difference amount (see FEE-STRUCTURE table in prospectus) is to be paid after verification at college cash counter.
• After bank payment applicants are to report to college admission committee with all documents & payment voucher for verification and provisional admission.
• If any discrepancy is found during verification of original testimonials, provisional admission will not be granted. In such case the deposited fee will be refundable.
